DIY: Face Masks!

Do you love face masks? Me too! They are such an amazing way to target skin problems and give your beautiful face an extra dose of TLC. Want to know the best part? There are so many masks that you can DIY with ingredients from your kitchen!


DIY Masks:

  1. “Burning Face Mask” from www.babble.com
    1. Targets hormonal acne + acne scars, evens skin tone
  2. Dry Skin Mask
    1. Help’s to relieve dry skin
  3. Coffee Mask
    1. Exfoliates

Mask #1: Burning Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice

Directions:

Mix together to form a thick paste + leave on for 30 minutes

Why it works:

  • Honey is a natural antiseptic that helps aid in the healing process of acne
  • Nutmeg is an anti-inflammatory
  • Cinnamon is an anti-fungal and anti-viral
  • Lemon brightens and evens skin tone, acne scars and darks spots and has vitamin C that boosts collagen in your skin



Mask#2: Dry Skin Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Honey (organic preferred)

Directions:

Mash banana + mix ingredients together to form a thick paste, let it sit for 15 minutes and rinse w/ warm water.

Why it works:

  • Honey is a natural antiseptic that helps aid in the healing process of acne
  • Banana is a natural moisturizer + it’s about 75% water by weight- helping reduce dryness and peeling
  • Yogurt contains lactic acid that helps dissolve dead skin cells and tightens pores


Mask #3: Coffee Exfoliating Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • Coffee grounds
  • Coconut oil
  • optional: fresh lemon juice (helps brighten your skin)

Directions:

Mix together and leave on for 15-60 minutes. Rinse with water and rub in circular motions.

Why it works:

  • Coffee grounds have the grit to exfoliate your skin and gets rid of dead skin cells. Plus it has caffeine to help the looks of wrinkles and helps reverse sun damage (like I needed another reason to be OBSESSED w/ coffee :))
  • Coconut oil is super nourishing to your skin
  • Lemon brightens and evens skin tone, acne scars and darks spots and has vitamin C that boosts collagen in your skin
